Air Directions
Winston-Salem's Smith Reynolds Airport (KINT) is a Class D airspace located just outside the Class C shelf of Greensboro's Piedmont Triad International Airport (KGSO). Smith Reynolds is an ideal location for both flight training, rental and permanent basing of aircraft. IFR traffic is fully supported on Runway 33/15, while both runways are open to VFR (the active tower normally favors Runway 4/22 for VFR).
For area METARs/TAFs, see our Weather page. For charts, come visit our Pilot Shop.

Radar Environment   -   IFR Precision and Non-Precision Approaches
Winston utilizes the same radar approach facilities as Greensboro, yet with less traffic sequencing into Winston. When you fly here, you get the same quality of radio communications practice during actual and simulated instrument training, only with fewer delays. KINT offers a variety of IFR approaches:
ILS or LOC Runway 33      RNAV (GPS) Runway 33      VOR/DME Runway 15      RNAV (GPS) Runway 15

Location on the Field
Piedmont Flight Training is located on KINT's Piedmont Ramp (a.k.a. Landmark Ramp) between the terminal building and the FBO.
